Back to Make the Markets
What you'll need:
- A Windows 10 or 11 computer
- About 4 GB of free disk space
- A working microphone (built-in is fine)
- An active Make the Markets membership
- Your license key (sent in your welcome email)
STEP 1
Download EVE
⏱ Takes 2 minutes
Click the big download button on your dashboard. The installer file is called
EVE-Setup.exe. Save it somewhere you can find it — your Downloads folder is fine.
STEP 2
Allow the Installer (Important!)
⏱ Takes 30 seconds
Windows might warn you about running the installer. This is normal for new software.
- Right-click
EVE-Setup.exe - Click "Run as administrator"
- If you see "Windows protected your PC" → click "More info" → "Run anyway"
- Click "Yes" when Windows asks for permission
Antivirus blocking it? Some antivirus software (Norton, McAfee) may flag new software. Add EVE to your "trusted apps" list. Email support@makethemarket.com if stuck.
STEP 3
Click Through the Installer
⏱ Takes 3 minutes
Follow the installer prompts. Use these settings:
- Installation folder: Default location is fine (don't change unless you know why)
- Create desktop shortcut: Yes
- Create start menu entry: Yes
- Auto-start with Windows: Recommended (EVE wakes up with your computer)
- Click "Install" and wait for the progress bar to finish
STEP 4
Enter Your License Key
⏱ Takes 1 minute
When EVE launches for the first time, she'll ask for your license key. This was emailed to you when you subscribed.

- Open your welcome email from Upstairs Trader
- Find the license key (it looks like the format above)
- Copy the entire key
- Paste into the EVE setup window
- Click "Activate"
Can't find the email? Check your spam/junk folder. Search for "Upstairs Trader" or "Make the Markets". Still missing? Email support@makethemarket.com — we'll resend it.
STEP 5
Test Your Microphone
⏱ Takes 2 minutes
EVE listens for her name through your microphone. Let's make sure it works.
- EVE will ask permission to use your microphone — click "Allow"
- You'll see a small bouncing bar — that means EVE is listening
- Say "EVE" clearly, at normal speaking volume
- EVE should respond with a greeting
- If she doesn't respond: try again, or check microphone settings in Windows
EVE not waking up? Common fixes: 1) Make sure microphone is plugged in. 2) Speak clearly. 3) Reduce background noise. 4) Check Windows Sound settings → Input device. Email support@makethemarket.com if still stuck.
STEP 6
Complete the Tutorial
⏱ Takes 15 minutes
EVE will walk you through her main features. Don't skip this — even experienced traders learn things.
- Click "Start Tutorial" on the EVE main screen
- Follow along — EVE will guide you
- You'll learn: The Compact, voice commands, holograms, post-session debriefs
- Pause anytime — your progress is saved
- At the end, you'll be ready to trade with EVE for real
